Aim:  This study was planned with the aim of examining the views on day surgery of child’s parents’ patients in the surgery clinics of one University Research Hospital.

Method

Type of Study:  a descriptive study

Place and time of study:  The study was performed between 11.02.2013 - 11.05.2103 at the Child Surgery, one University Research Hospital.

Sampling:  The study sample consisted of 100 day surgery patient’s parents who were willing to take part in the research.

Data Collection:  The researchers explained the questionnaire form and the purpose for which it was used to the patients included in the study and obtained their verbal consent, after which the forms were distributed, and either left with the patients to be answered, or if desired the questions  were answered in a 15-30 minute interview.

Data Evaluation:  Data analysis was performed using the program SPSS for Windows 18.  Numbers and percentages were used in data evaluation.

Findings:  It was observed that 88% of the patients parents had positive views of going home after the operation; 47% were happy to go home the same day and 21% were happy that there was no problem with the operation; 2 %were unhappy because they needed medical support at home.

Results: Although a majority of patients who undergo day surgery are happy that they can go home the same day, more detailed studies of patients who do not want to go home the same day are needed, and their thoughts and wishes need to be examined.

Amaç: Bu çalışma Çocuk Cerrahisi Kliniğinde hastaların günübirlik cerrahi hakkında düşüncelerini incelemek amacıyla planlanmıştır.

Yöntem:

Çalışmanın Tipi: Tanımlayıcı bir çalışma.

Çalışmanın Yeri ve Zamanı: Araştırmaya bir Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Araştırma ve Uygulama Hastanesi Çocuk Cerrahisi Kliniğinde 11.02.2013 - 11.05.2103 tarihleri arasında yapıldı.

Çalışmanın Örneklemi: Çalışmanın örneklemini 11.02.2013 - 11.05.2013 tarihleri arasında günübirlik cerrahi olan 100 çocuğun ailesi oluşturdu.

Veri Toplama: Araştırmacılar tarafından literatür bilgisi doğrultusunda geliştirilen 26 maddeden oluşan anket formu kullanıldı.

Verilerin Değerlendirilmesi: Anket formları araştırmacı tarafından bilgisayara kodlanarak Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS for Windows 16) programı ile analizleri yapıldı. Verilerin analizlerinde; tanımlayıcı verilerde sayı-yüzde analizi yapıldı.

Bulgular: Ailelerin ameliyat sonrası eve gidiş düşüncelerine göre dağılımları incelendiğinde; %88’inin (n=88) olumlu baktıkları, ailelerin günübirlik cerrahi konusunda %47’sinin (n=47) aynı gün eve gitmekten, %21’inin (n=21) ameliyatla ilgili sorunların olmamasından memnun olduğu görüldü. Ailelerin %2’sinin (n=2) evde sağlık desteğine ihtiyaç duyma konusunda memnuniyetsizlik belirttiği görüldü.

Sonuç: Çocuk Cerrahisi Kliniğinde ailelerin günübirlik cerrahi hakkındaki düşüncelerinin incelenmesi bu konuda yapılacaklara ışık tutacaktır.
