EXAMİNATİON OF THE EXPERIENCES OF MOTHER’S DURING BURN DRESSING: A QUALITATIVE STUDY

Introduction: In skin and/or subcutaneous tissues acute damage caused by exposure to heat, cold, electricity, chemicals and radioactive rays is called burn. Although burn trauma is a serious health problem for children, it is a condition that is frequently observed with either hospitalization or daily treatment and includes years of rehabilitation. This study was planned to determine the observations,views and experiences of of mothers during burn dressing.

Method: The study was applied using qualıtatıve method in the burn surgery outpatient clinic of a university hospital in İzmir. Mothers who had outpatient, had experienced burn for the first time and accepted to participate were included in this study. Data were collected by one-to one interviews. Semi-structured questionnaire was used in the interviaews and voice recording was done. The data obtained from the interviews were evaluated with qualitative content analysis method.

Results: The demographic data, theme and sub-theme distributions of the mothers who participated in the study were evaluated by qualitative content analysis method and the findings will be shared in details at the congress.

Outcome: The study data will be shared in details at the congress.
