Hydrocalycosis is defined as the cystic dilatation of major calyces. Infundibular stenosis due to extrinsic and intrinsic causes thought to play a role in this pathology. There were only few literatures about hydrocalycosis and we couldn’t find a literature about the complication which may called as ‘pyocalycosis’. Diagnosis and treatment of 2 cases with complicated hydrocalycosis-pyocalycosis with the initial diagnosis of renal abscess were reported with the review of literature. 

Hidrokalikozis major kaliksin kistik dilatasyonu olarak tanımlanmaktadır. İntrensek veya ekstrensek nedenlere bağlı ortaya çıkan infundibular stenoz sonucu oluştuğu düşünülmektedir. Konuya ilişkin literatür bilgileri yetersiz ve oldukça eski olup aynı zamanda “piyokalikozis” olarak tanımlanabilecek bir komplikasyon bildirilmemiştir. Bu çalışmada, böbrek absesi ön tanısı ile kliniğimize gönderilen ve yapılan tetkikler sonucu saptanan komplike olmuş hidrokalikozis- piyokalikozis- tanısı alan iki hastada uygulanan tanı ve tedavi yöntemleri sunularak literatür bilgilerinin gözden geçirilmesi amaçlanmıştır.
