Self-inserted foreign bodies in the genitourinary tract can be challenging to the pediatric urologists. These cases often necessitate urgent assessment and intervention.

We present a case of a 11-year-old boy who inserted sewing needle into his urethra . The patient presented with dysuria. The x- ray revealed that foreign body was in the urethra. Cystoscopy was performed and the needle which stuck to the posterior urethra was removed. There was no intraoperative or postoperative complication and the patient was discharged after urination.

 Foreign bodies are rarely found in the lower urinary tract of children. Definitive treatment is usually the endoscopic removal; however, sometimes surgical intervention may be required.

Genitoüriner sistemde yabancı cisimler çocuk ürologları açısından zorlayıcı olabilir. Genelde bu tür durumlar acil değerlendirme ve girişim gerektirir.

On bir yaşında üretrasına toplu iğne sokan erkek hastanın sunulması amaçlandı. Dizüri yakınması ile başvuran hastanın yapılan radyolojik görüntülemesinde üretrada yabancı cisim gözlendi. Sistoskopi ile posterior üretraya saplanmış olan iğne çıkarıldı. Ameliyat sırasında ya da sonrasında herhangi bir komplikasyon gelişmedi ve hasta idrar çıkardıktan sonra taburcu edildi.

Yabancı cisimler nadiren alt üriner sistemde bulunurlar. Tedavi edici yöntem sıklıkla endoskopik olarak yabancı cismin çıkarılmasıdır; ancak ender olarak nadiren açık cerrahi girişim gerekebilir.
