A rare cause of intestinal obstruction in children: Primary intestinal tuberculosis

Tuberculosis is still a major public health problem all over the world, especially in underdeveloped and developing countries.  Primary tuberculosis is the most commonly infected children and young people, in high-risk populations. The symptoms of tuberculosis in childhood may be nonspecific or asymptomatic. Intestinal tuberculosis is still encountered in developing countries and there are also one-third of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. Especially, in the absence of pulmonary tuberculosis is difficult to diagnose. We report a case of a 14-month girl who had been operated as an emergency due to intestinal obstruction and with a diagnosis of primary intestinal tuberculosis
