Introduction and aim:

Transient intussuception is the situation of   spontaneous regression during follow-up of the intussusception which is seen during the imaging process is performed  for abdominal pain or other reasons.

The aim of this study is to compare the data and discuss the result of the  cases of patients  who has  provisional diagnosis of invagination and  treated with invagination

Materials and Methods:

Between 2009- 2015, 165 patients which admitted to our clinic with a diagnosis of intussusception were retrospectively evaluated. Patients divided into two groups:who are determined for   transient invagination and those who are treated for invagination

Results:

A total of 165 patients were included in the study. 54 cases were accepted as Group 1 for transient  invagination and 111 cases  who were treated for invagination were Group II

When the groups are compared transient invagination (Group I); which is higher in the proportion of girls, which is shorter than the duration of complaints, complaints of bloody stool is less and  the average age of 33.7  month (± 26.76) /30.53(±32.98) was found to be higher . Also in this group the average number of white blood cells are less than the  treated groups and  the average length of intussusception was found to be shorter (34.61 (± 18.73) / 42.59 (± 22:36) mm) . In addition, transient  intussusception cases in the group started oral earlier and they were less hospitalized shorter of time .

Conclusion:

Close monitoring(follow-up) of patients whose  general condition is good in childhood, whose symptoms are not fully evident, whose age is older according to the age of classical  intussusception cases, but radiologically diagnosed of intussusception could be avoided of  unnecessary interventions.
