A Rare Case of Bartholin's Cyst Abscess in a 27-day-old Newborn

The Bartholin's glands are located bilaterally at the posterior portion of the vestibule. It is a gland that responsible for secretions to moisturize and lubricate the area after puberty. Bartholin's cyst is a cystic disease of the labia major, which is common in 2% of reproductive women. Bartholin's gland abscess can occur due to a mucus plug, infection, inflammation, trauma, surgery that leads to blockage of the duct. Bartholin's cyst abcsess is a very rare disease in the neonatal period. Only 7 cases have been reported in the world in prepubertal girls, 2 of which are newborns. İn this paper we presented 27 day-old newborn diagnosed and treated for Bartholin's cyst abscess.

Özet:
Bartolin bezi vestibülün posterior kısımında lokalize, puberte sonrasında lubrikan ve müköz sekresyondan sorumludur. Bartolin kist apsesi insidansı cinsel aktif kadınlarda %2’dir. Etyolojide mukus tıkaç plakları, enfeksiyonlar, travma ve cerrahi nedenler mevcuttur. Bartolin kist apsesi neonatal dönemde oldukça nadir görülen bir patolojidir. Literatüre bakıldığında prepubertel dönemde 5 olgu sunumu, yenidoğan döneminde ise bu zamana kadar sadece adet 2 olgu sunumu yayınlanmıştır. Bu olgu sunumunda 27 günlük bir yenidoğanda görülen Bartolin apsesi tanı ve tedavi sürecinin paylaşılması amaçlanmıştır.
