Introduction.

To see one case of Anorectal malformation with expected good continence instead, having incontinence as a surgical complication due to severe deviation of the rectum away from the muscle complex, is catastrophic for the patient and the surgeon. Therefore, muscle stimulating devices are used to define the sphincter complex. Due to lack of resources in many developing countries, surgeons locate the muscle complex based on their experience, which then becomes a game of luck.

Objective.

To standardize optimal rectoplasty within the muscle complex using an improvised worldwide available muscle stimulator.

Methods.

A prospective study was carried out at two centers in Saudia Arabia between (2021- 2025) including 16 patients with different types of anorectal malformation anomalies.

No exclusion criteria were specified regarding age, weight, or sex.

Those patients underwent anorectoplasty with the aid of an innovative digital therapy device (DTD) for identification of the proper muscle complex. This device has FDA approval for various muscle physiotherapy.

We improvised the device connection to accommodate pre and intraoperative usage to delineate the exact site of the muscle complex in comparison to an ordinary Peña muscle stimulator.

Results.

The device efficiently located the boundaries of the muscle complex very clearly in all patients without complications or difficulty in use, in addition, sterilization was kept intact during its use intraoperatively.

Conclusion.

The digital therapy device (DTD) is safe, efficient, and extra low cost
