The present study aims to compare a minimally invasive surgical approach for patients with hydronephrosis. This study conducts a retrospective cohort study, comparing open pyeloplasties vs. pyeloplasties performed by minimally invasive surgery using video-assisted surgery. The study compared open pyeloplasties vs. video-assisted laparoscopic pyeloplasties. The study found 37 patients who underwent open pyeloplasties and 21 patients who underwent laparoscopic pyeloplasties between January 2020 and December 2024. The study also included similar restenosis and renal unit loss rates in the comparison groups. The study also included similar surgical times.
